About Katrina's Kitchen Cookbook
I was inspired to write this cookbook to capture the recipes that have been passed down from my grandmother and mom. I wanted to capture them in a book to pass on to the next generation of cooks in our family.
We have a family legacy of getting together and sharing a meal way before I was born. When black families had nothing else, we could always get together for a meal. This was a time to see how family members were doing and if someone needed help resources came through family members.
My cookbook is based on faith, family, food, and fellowship. Here’s one black family's story rooted in resilience, grounded in faith, infused with loved and sprinkled with fun. Enjoy the food, for the mind, body and soul.
As my grandson said to me, the key ingredient in my food is love.

"Food is love, and this cookbook empowers the soul and showers the reader with family recipes that are the fortitude of 'food love' from the generational trauma of slavery through modern times." ~ Katrina
